Individuals and companies seek first aid training for various reasons. It may be you want to be able to help your family and friends or you may require qualified staff in your workplace. Whatever the justification we offer a range of courses and recognised qualifications. We can also tailor training to your individual requirements and situation and provide appropriate certification to match levels of achievement.

We have been approved by the Health & Safety Executive (#15/05) for the delivery and assessment of the First Aid at Work Certificate, and by the Paediatric First Aid Association for first aid courses for those who work with children.

We have regular open courses in Peterborough and new for 2011 we also run courses in the pavilion in the beauitful village of Barnack. This setting offers, free parking and is ideally located to serve customers to the west of Peterborough, Stamford and the villages of North Cambridgeshire, South Lincolnshire and Rutland.

 

We are also members of the First Aid Council for Training (FACT) The Paediatric First Aid Association (PFAA) and the Federation of First Aid Training Organisations (FOFATO).

 

First Aid at Work Certificate
This three day course and assessment is aimed at employers to ensure they are legally compliant with The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. Candidates receive training in topics relating to, and dealing with, accidents within the working environment. Our experienced trainers will endeavour to make the course as relevant to your particular business. Following independent assessment, sucessful candidates receive certification formally recognised by the Health & Safety Executive. The FAW certificate is valid for 3 years.

First Aid at Work - Refresher
A two day refresher course and assessment for first aider with a valid First Aid at Work certificate that is due for renewal.

Emergency First Aid at Work
A one day emergency first aid course for First Aiders working in lower risk environments. We cover what to do in an emergency and basic life support skills as well dealing with common medical conditions and minor injuries. The course is HSE approved and the certificate is valid for 3 years.

 

Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
More and more organisations are investing in their own AED. If a member of staff or visitor has a sudden cardiac arrest, every second counts. Our half day AED competent user course ensures that your personnel are fully competent in the use of this life saving equipment. The Resusitation Council's recommendation is that AED training should be carried out annually and accordingly our certificate is valid for 12 months.

Paediatric First Aid
Our two day paediatric course has been approved by the Paediatric First Aid Association the new regulatory body for paediatic first aid. Exceeding the syllabus requirements of OFSTED, the Pre-School Learning Alliance and the National Child Minding Association, this course also exceeds the prescribed training required for the Emergency First Aid at Work certificate as laid down by the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.

Sports or Outdoors First Aid
Are you the athlete or mountain biker ? Are you one of the many coaches or instructors helping develop others? This programme looks at first aid in the sporting / outdoors environment. Using scenarios from many different sports, you will learn how to respond efficiently to ill or injured prior to the arrival of the Emergency Medical Services. To ensure the course fits with your national governing body, the course length may be 12 or 16 hours contact time.

CPR Workshop
The HSE strongly recommend that First Aider undertake annual refresher training. This half day workshop provides updates to the CPR protocols and an intensive hands on session to refresh their first aid skills.
Although not mandatory, we are sure your staff will relish the opportunity to practice with our manikins.
